Hatch Studio is the new home of still life photographer Mitch Payne. Mitch Payne has become renowned for his love of graphic contrast between shadows and harsh light, a love of brutalist style and often with an abstract angle.

Opening his new studio in the heart of Hackney Wick at the Hatch Building, I wanted to both explore the angle of the word ‘Hatch’ but also keep a sense of Mitches style across the identity. The identity comes in two parts, with the more abstract version unfolding its hatch doors to form the H either end, expanding out from the line forming the T and revealing the A and C.

This is part of an ongoing, much larger rebrand that is currently being worked on.
