For the last few months I’ve been working on a project based around depression. Depression is a major problem that affects a lot of people around the world. We often shy away from talking about it as we don’t fully understand it. What is depression? Is it just when people get a little sad? This is not the case, depression is a mental illness, and until we can accept that, recovery for people who suffer from this illness will be harder than it needs to be.

The project is based around one mans journey to recovery over the space of eight years, documented through his milestones. It highlights the fact that these key milestones that have helped him recover, are sometimes not greatly significant to everyone, but sometimes its the small things, such as putting the washing out on the line, that help the most.
